WEEK OF THE TRIBUTES
15th, 16th & 18th March
Time to take you back to those hedonistic times with 3 exceptional tributes this week. Starting with The Jilted Generation (15th March). A full on Prodigy experience from the most energetic tributes to a great influential band. Even former Prodigy live guitarist Gizz Butt (who has, we should mention, slept on a certain sofa in this town!!) said his guest appearances with this band were "Like having a flashback!". Their reason for doing such a service to muso’s everywhere? ‘The abundance of bands who don't provide enough energy in their live shows gives us the buzz to visually look like a nuthouse, perform the madness of the tracks, make people lose their minds and not give a f***...we just wanna rock it!!!’ www.myspace.com/thejiltedgeneration. Then, if you can recover quick enough THE ultimate Metallica tribute Feral Circus (16th March) bring us as close as most of us will get to the real thing! www.feralcircus.co.uk. With infectious old school support from Fury UK www.furyuk.com. To round proceedings off a tribute to one of the best things to come out of Ireland (apart from Bob Geldof that is ) Achtung Baby (18th March) who were voted the best sound-a-like tribute in the UK on BBC’s Battle of the Tribute Bands with a singer that appeared on Pulp’s single, Bad Cover Version as Bono do not miss this sell out U2 tribute! www.achtung-baby.co.uk
