ThefirstandlastgigIeverputon Presents:
MONDAY 30TH APRIL @ THE COMMON PLACE, LEEDS
www.thecommonplace.org.uk
£4 on the door. 6 bands. Righteous!
THE DAUNTLESS ELITE
Leeds scene celebrities play melodic punk better than anyone else in the country. Like Dillinger Four, but less naked. They have rekkurds out on Plan It X, Bombed Out and Snuffy Smile. Album out soon. But they've been saying that for about 3 years now, I'm sure. Slackers. They probably won't even turn up... and they never play that fast one that I like.

BEASTS
One of them used to be in Dugong. They don't sound like Dugong. They sound a bit like A Wilhelm Scream, but less poncey. And maybe a bit like Strike Anywhere, except they aren't fucking boring. They have an album out this week on Seduction Records. I bet it's dead good

THE SHADOWCOPS
Manchester stalwarts travel half the length of the M62 to melt our collective faces with village-destroying monster riffs. Alot like The Wildhearts/The Living End, with plenty of cap tipping to old SST luminaries. New CD due out soon n'all. One of them is a southerner though, So I've heard. Prick.

IT'S BROKEN!
The 13th best band in Hyde Park play the most undeniably undanceable guff this side of Headingley. 3 local chumps sing songs about punx, violence, Black Flag and going to work. Or whatever. Riffs and stuff, and 3 singers, like Raging Speedhorn or some shit. They have a recent demo out on a Verbatim 80min CD-R. Recent review by a member of the Punktastic forums stated "Judging by the music you make, you're either 5 years old, or retarded". A fair review, but he was championing the new Ataris album in the same thread. Invalid.

MOVEMENT LIBRARY
More Manchester stalwarts venturing to our side of the Pennines. We don't really take kindly to their sort, andI've not even heard this band. For all I know, they could be a right load of shit. Two of them used to be in that band that recorded an album that never came out. Gun n Roses. The other two used to be in Me and Three Others. Never heard of them. Probably crap. They have a demo out soon though. And maybe that Chinese Democracy record will see the light of day.

MAGNUS MAGNUSSON
The two guys are going to turn up, pull out their guitars, and play songs. They aren't even going to plug in or use a microphone. Sounds fucking batty if you ask me. Sounds a bit like early Billy Bragg. Bit of Bruce Springsteen tossed in there too. Fairly gruff, acoustic punx. Their new CD will be on sale at this gig. I'll be buying one. They are pretty sweet. Top guys to boot.

It's gonna be toptastic. There'll be vegan food, organic ale. Hell, if you get bored, you can read a book, or use a computer to check your Livejournal. It'll be dead good. £4 for 6 bands. I'm going to lose money I don't even have. Top banana!
Here is a flyer for you to cut out and keep
Be a sport. Make the trip. All the bands are awesome. Even my band are passable.
Thankingyou x
