Talamasca
+ Heathen Foray + Heatray
21st July
From ancient Gods and Wraiths - to the growing threat of Techno-enslavement. From the fight back of the supernatural and all its monsters - to the horror of injustice done unto man by his brother in the name of greed and glory and greatness. Talamasca resurrects them all. Their sound is their homage to the way things should be done. The front line vocals snarl and growl with ferocity while the backing vocals come softer and easier but no less bloodthirsty. Like a fiend in the night the guitar riffs roar, marking out their territory for all to know, intertwined with high-pitched harmonics like the howls telling the pack of the kill. All this backed up with the bass and drums, sounding like an approaching thunderstorm and turmoil. This is the darkest, heaviest force that rock has encountered since ages passed www.myspace.com/talamascauk. With ‘epic medieval style metal’ support from Heathen Foray www.heathen-foray.co.uk and Heatray www.myspace.com/heatraymetal

Full July Gig Guide….
Rock/Indie
1st July – Breathing Space – New offerings from Iain Jennings, ex-keyboard wizard and co-songwriter with rock giants, Mostly Autumn. ‘Breathing Space will not give you rock n' roll excess, bravado or swagger but what they do deliver is tight, refined, mainstream pop music with a hint of rock and a touch of modern dance music. The songs are cleverly crafted opuses with elements of Pink Floyd and Yes. In order to achieve this sound Jennings has surrounded himself with musicians of immense calibre that they are able to deliver on his grand designs. With Olivia Sparnenn's sublime, pitch perfect vocals, Mark Rowen's dazzling guitar work, Paul Teasdale's outstanding bass groove, Andrew Jennings' solid drum beats and flanked by Ben Jennings on synth, how can this project fail?’ www.breathingspaceband.com. With support from five piece The Neumes promising a unique fusion of jazz, folk and rock fronted by three sisters. The band has been playing together for ten years and were interviewed by john peel for BBC radio 4as well as coming in the last twenty eight in the Glastonbury unsigned bands competition www.myspace.com/bandtheneumes. A quality night of quality music!
2nd July – Kelly and the Kelly Girls – And now for something completely different all the way from Canada! ‘At first glance, Kelly Clipperton looks a helluva lot like Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider—a hulking fellow made over in teased hair and garish make-up. Accordingly, you might be inclined to write off Kelly and his backing band, the Kelly Girls, as a lame-o inside joke looking to push the envelope by way of cross dressing and a smidge of foul language. But the fact of the matter remains—these guys can play and their songs are actually really solid. Boasting six members include a trumpet and sax player, this brass-heavy line-up deliver skronky New Wave-esque tunes that recall Martha and the Muffins, Roxy Music and the B-52s. Clipperton has a decent set of pipes and showed his versatile by alternating between a salty croon and a guttural yowl. Even his cover of Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll” came off dripping with machismo, which is surprising considering Clipperton was dressed, in part, as a woman. Solid party band that works and makes most sense after midnight.’ - Cameron Gordon www.kellyclipperton.com
3rd July – Sounds Like Lazer Fire – ‘This group of young lads have a wonderfully charismatic stage presence, with an excellent sense of humour; relaxed and confident in what they were doing.
