Alas, all good things must come to an end. Eleven nights have gone,
and just one remains. So far over £900 has been raised for
Wakefield Music Collective for the Clarence Park Music Festival
2008. But who will grace the stage there this year? The following
four great acts will be competing for a place this coming Friday,
April 25th:
KING NOTHING (Heat B Winners, Tri-Final 1 Winners) -
www.myspace.com/kingnothinguk
Sleaze metal hair monsters from Leeds, King Nothing participated in
last years competition and got knocked out in the first round. This
time they're back with a vengeance and have vowed to entertain the
crowd the only way they know how; through balls-to-the-wall heavy
metal.
THE BUNDESRATS (Heat D Winners, Tri-Final 2 Winners) -

Wakefield's very own Ska youngsters have taken this event by storm,
whipping the crowd into a frenzied dancing mass! Despite only being
together for a single year, the bands' performance belies their
tender ages.
DARK ENTITY (Heat E Winners, Tri-Final 3 Winners) -

Wakefield's second representatives in the final, Dark Entity are
the Hardcore Metal act that has cut a swathe through all that stand
in their path. A young band that has had many lineup changes in
their four-year history, they appear to have finally found a
winning combination. Can this carry them past the finish post in
first place?
SMILE POLTERGEIST (Heat D Runners-Up, Playoff Winners) -
www.myspace.com/smilepoltergeist
Last years finalists (before having to pull out) from
Barton-upon-Humber have grown in stature yet again as the
competition has progressed. Their combination of heavy rock and
melodic borderline metal has wowed the crowds again. Being heralded
as musical geniuses by several throughout the event, will 2008 see
the success they crave?
The fun starts at 7pm at the Snooty Fox and will also see a
performance from last years' winners, Theory1
(www.myspace.com/theory1band). As usual for WTP Music gigs, the
event is free entry but as this is a fundraising event for Clarence
Park, please make a donation towards the cause. Several fundraising
games are planned including an AA auction (more details on the
night!).
Even if you can't stand the music these bands play, please come
down and show your support for YOUR local live music scene. Without
it there will not be one.
Kind regards
Wayne Poppleton, WTP Music
